BETTWS HALL – OPEN DAY APRIL 5

We are excited to announce that Bettws Hall are opening their gates for their first open day. You are invited to join us on Wednesday 5th April for an afternoon walk around the Bettws Hall herd. This will include looking at their newly renovated calving building, new comfort mat slated floor system, a fattening bull unit and breeding cattle.

Bettws Hall is well known across the globe for its prestigious shooting, with many overseas guests travelling to enjoy a day in the Welsh hills. The farm business also includes a flock of 1,000 highlander ewes.
Bettws Hall has been involved in the Stabiliser breed for nine years now and has built up a 300-head Stabiliser suckler herd. The breed was brought onto Bettws Hall farm in 2014 when Gwyn purchased 14 Heifers and 1 Bull, after working on the herd; Bettws Hall became multipliers in 2018 for the Stabiliser Cattle Company.
The herd has been closed since 2019 and US embryos have been imported to bring in new genetics. AI is also used on the farm to allow the herd to remain closed. The farm calves 300 cows indoors, which are turned out within a matter of days, weather permitting. Offspring are either fattened on farm, retained for breeding, or sold as breeding stock.
There will be an opportunity to look at the 70 bulling heifers available, along with a group of two-year-old bulls and an excellent choice of yearling bulls.
